Mark your calendars for the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance’s Old House and Barn Expo taking place March 15-16, 2014 at the Radisson/Center of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH.  Historical preservation is an important mission for TMS Architects and we applaud the work that the NH Preservation Alliance does to publicize and preserve New Hampshire’s historic treasures.  The Old House Barn and Expo is only one of their many important activities.

Described as a “one-stop-shopping  trade show that helps old house and barn owners and enthusiasts with appropriate and affordable solutions”, this wide-ranging expo provides opportunities for the exploration of garden, architecture, history and preservation strategies through free hourly lectures, more than 60 different exhibitors and many traditional arts demonstrators.

Noted authors Tom Hubka, Howard Mansfield and Tovah Martin will be on hand and barn repair specialists Steve Bedard and Ian Blackman will  be available to share their expertise as well.  Attendees will be able to talk to craftsmen as they work on stone walls, repair plaster, learn how to research the history of a house and lower energy bills.

The Alliance is also looking for preservation success stories or challenges that could  be shared at the Expo and ask that  “Preservation Pin Ups” be sent to to www.nhpreservation.org.
