It’s not news that former editor in chief of Elle Décor, Margaret Russell, has taken the reigns at Architectural Digest. That story broke in August last year. But the changes she’s made to the architecture magazine are definitely still fresh.
The New York Times did a great, in-depth article about “unveiling the new Architectural Digest,” detailing Russell’s approach. The high-end shelter magazine had become stuffy, and Russell is striving to make it more appealing to younger readers, focusing on the website and fine-tuning the spreads.
This year’s Architectural Digest Home Design Show is coming up later this week, with hundreds of exhibits, a series of designer seminars, and a keynote presentation by Russell.
And we at TMS Architects want to know what you think of the Architectural Digest evolution. Do you think the magazine’s getting a much-needed rejuvenation, or were you happy with it just the way it was? Leave a comment to share your thoughts!
