Home Libraries Still Going Strong

In the day of ipads, Nooks and Kindles it is surprising that home libraries continue to be a popular architectural feature. It would seem logical that people designing a new home would have no interest in a room devoted to something as archaic as books! Well logic doesn’t always hold …  interest in home libraries is on the rise.

A cozy library can be the perfect antidote to a home with an open floor plan. No  matter how much we love togetherness everyone likes to sneak away from the crowd once in a while. Libraries are the perfect spot for having a nap, chatting with a friend or reading a book. In fact the constant buzz of electronics that has invaded our lives makes a rare spot for quiet even more appealing. Imagine the luxury of having a spot in your home that is designated wifi and phone free?

Of course the original use of a library is to store books and that continues to be a need for most families. People who have curated book collections, or simply love the feel of actually having a book in their hands, still want a special spot for their beloved tomes.
