    Louis deRochemont (1899-1978) is considered to be a maverick New Hampshire film producer. From the creation of his first newsreel at the age of 12, his film career spanned the years from 1935 to 1951. He was thought to be the father of the “docu drama” and received two Academy Awards for his work.

    The historic Louis deRochement House was built in 1854 and is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The house was repurposed as medical offices and moved to a corner lot some 500’ from its original site. An addition was added to the main house to provide increased office spaces.
