Project: One Cate Street Architectural Office, Portsmouth, NH

From a brewery ice house to an auto parts warehouse to its present incarnation as an architectural studio, this 2900 square foot office was transformed from rough industrial space to its current configuration of curving walls, dramatic lighting and efficient work areas. Since it was the industrial character of the space, including high ceilings, large windows and exposed brick that initially interested the firm, it was important that this sense of history was still preserved in the final design.
A circular staircase ushers clients down into the reception area where a custom-designed mahogany reception desk and curved wall greet visitors.
