    The Governor’s Academy – Student Building

    Project: The Governor’s Academy – Student Building, Byfield, MA

    Prior to the project's renovation, the existing student center was an interesting blend of buildings that shared proximity and exterior characteristics but lacked cohesive flow, current accessibility needs and inviting qualities that should be part of a successful student center.
    The design challenge in this project was to re-use the existing buildings as much as possible, remain faithful to the exterior style that is a part of the overall campus aesthetic and provide the students with an interior space that flows together, connects a variety of program requirements as well as offer smaller, individual spaces among the larger gathering spaces.
