TMS was selected to transform Steeple Hall, a function hall in Newburyport, MA, into a restaurant featuring New Zealand cuisine. The client requested a "sophisticated atmosphere" which TMS created with dramatic lighting, black ceilings and floors, taupe and colored walls punctuated with splashes of vibrant color. The black walls provide the ideal backdrop to showcase the spectacular artwork of New Zealand artist, Jane Gray, while the ebonized ash woodwork, etched glass and curved ash ceiling panels all add to the ambience. Main stage is the dramatic curved kitchen that incorporates stainless steel and black granite. The drama of the kitchen extending into the main dining area treats guests to the show of five chefs participating in the ballet of food preparation.
