This Maine coast home combines the New England cottage style with contemporary elements such as a sweeping second floor deck and extensive windows which take advantage of the superb views of the ocean. The design concept of the floor plan steps down along the hillside, as the owners wanted an easy transition from the interior to the exterior for summer entertaining. The radiating ocean side balcony is cantilevered with a hidden steel beam, making the balcony and second floor visually appear to float over the colonnade which grows out of the expansive terrace while the stone used on the lower deck anchors the building to the site.
