Since adults and kids alike seem to have so much on their plates these days, many people are noticing a distinct decline in quality family time. But that’s not so for our residential clients in Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts, who said from the very beginning of the design process that “It’s all about the family.”
The house was designed with family living in mind, with the living/family room situated as the heart of the home. The remaining spaces surround this central family living and dining space. Even the spiral staircase reinforces the importance of family, winding up to a balcony overlooking the family area below. In fact, the foot of the staircase even starts in the family room, as it was designed as a “piece of furniture” rather than a formal part of the foyer.
