Thoroughly review their references, track record of approvals, and see if you’re able to gauge how well they work with local planners and contractors. During this process, you should be looking for how the firm reacted and worked amid changes, challenges and tight budgets.
Finally, schedule in-person interviews with each architect, so you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and make sure you’re able to connect and communicate effectively. This is also a great time to determine if you’ll be able to form a positive, productive working relationship with the architect(s).
