Infusing Fun, Chic Color Into Kids’ Bedrooms

A child’s bedroom is a space for dreaming, playing, creating and using one’s imagination. So why not design it this way? Nurture, encourage, and inspire your child with a bedroom design you both love. A little color can go a long way in a kid’s bedroom design. When done right, you can still achieve a beautiful space that can grow and change with your child’s age without having to repaint. Here are some of our favorite paint colors for adding fun and enduring style and personality to kids’ bedrooms.

This precious little girl’s room is all about pink. We used hot pink and other accent colors throughout the room, but for the walls we went with a carefully-selected pink that features a touch of gray to keep it cool and chic. Down the road, fabrics and bed canopies can be switched out and a new palette can be created with sleek grays that will look fabulous with these walls.

Complete with a detailed mural of stars and planets, this boy’s room is out of this world. A sky blue and a more strong and stimulating blue create a nice balance of dark and light color that work in conjunction with natural light. The space-themed bedding and pillows are fun and youthful while the mural’s artistic appeal ensures that the child won’t quickly outgrow it.

The little girl that is lucky enough to call this her bedroom is whisked away to an enchanted forest each time she enters. For the walls, we used a white with a pink cast which serves as the perfect backdrop for the picturesque landscape mural. We then worked in more whimsical colors through fabrics, textiles, pillows and furniture that add energy and charm.
