TMS Architects received a design award given by the American Institute of Architects NH Chapter (AIANH) during their 2014 Annual Excellence in Architecture Design Awards. This award program was founded 30 years ago and according to a statement released by AIANH, the purpose is to provide “ the highest recognition of architecture that exemplifies excellence in overall design, including aesthetics, clarity, creativity, appropriate functionality , sustainability, building performance and appropriateness with regard to fulfilling the client’s program.”
TMS Architects‘ winning entry, Lakeside Cove Cottage in Wolfebor0, NH, was one of nine projects recognized at the AIANH Awards Banquet, January 10th at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH. The awards were notable for their variety and speak to the breadth of the architectural talent that exists in New England. Among the other recipients were the City of Manchester Police Department, Lavalee Brensinger Architects; Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics, UNH, Goody Clancy Architects; Norway Point, NH Lake Region Private Residence, Samyn-D’Elia Architects; Burr & Burton Academy Campus Academic Building, Peru, VT, Bensonwood; Keene Family YMCA, ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge; Piedra Fina Restaurant, Marlboro, NH, Daniel V. Scully/Architects; Private Residence in Rural NH, Dennis Mires, The Architects; Manchester Community College Student Center, Lavallee Brensinger Architects. The winner for the People’s Choice Awards for residential projects was a private residence in Portsmouth, NH designed by McHenry Architects and the Keene Family YMCA won in the commercial category.
TMS Architects winning project has been a preference on social media sites such as Pinterest and Houzz and was favorably viewed by the judges as well who commented that “This is a skillfully crafted, exceptionally detailed, classic waterfront cottage.
